BCMS Cross Checking

Extensive cross checking is now being made with the BCMS when subsidy claims are processed, any anomalies detected can result in premiums withheld or in the worst case premiums being lost. Leading the field in Farm Management Software an exciting new feature added to Agridata allows users to cross check the cattle recorded on the BCMS against the cattle recorded on Agridata.

This new Agridata feature checks for: -

• Animals currently recorded on Agridata, but not recorded on the BCMS
• Animals recorded on the BCMS, but not currently recorded on Agridata
• Dates of birth and movement on date are cross checked against animals recorded on Agridata
• The sex of the animals are cross checked against animals recorded on Agridata

Agridata is also able to display a report on any queried cattle and queried movements.

Doing these checks manually is time consuming and tedious, this new feature can be used on a regular basis to assist in assuring the BCMS have all your cattle's details recorded correctly, which can help to speed up your subsidy payments.

BCMS Movement Upload

Using Agridata you can now create a text file to import movements into the BCMS web site, or Agridata can e-mail the movements directly to SIS. Using these systems saves time, and you will no longer need to tear off and post a movement card from the animals passport. Agridata can also create a passport applications text file to import into the BCMS web site to apply for passports.

Tru-Test® Link2000

Agridata now reads weight files from Tru-Test's Link2000 software. This is a simple application for downloading and uploading the files and records from your Tru-Test Series 2000 indicator. The information is then imported into Agridata so users can view weight gain reports, and graphs. Tru-Test's Link2000 is free. To download Link2000 click here. The bureau version has special features, for example, when the software loads it can check each customer's records for passports required, cattle approaching 30 months etc. The software also allows the user to switch from one customer to another from a drop down menu. Only one copy of Agridata is needed to keep as many clients and records as required.

Using these systems saves time, and means passports will arrive quickly, and the information will be accurate. Agridata can also create a text file to import movements into the BCMS web site.

What's New in Agridata 9.87.02

To view the current version click on the 'Help' menu then click the 'About Agridata' option.

When installing the Agridata update from a cd, if the Operating System is Windows XP with Service Pack 2 the .NET Framework 3.0 will be installed (Windows Vista already has the .NET Framework 3.0 installed). After the framework has been installed you will find that you have a new printer installed called the Microsoft XPS Document Writer. When printing reports if you select this printer it will allow you to save the report as an XPS file (this is Microsoft's equivalent of the PDF file). This file can then be viewed or printed by anyone that can read an XPS document. Any computer with the .NET Framework 3.0 installed, or running Windows Vista will be able to view or print the file. The .NET Framework 3.0 can also been downloaded using Windows Update. Once an XPS file have been created the file could then be emailed or saved to cd and be sent to your Accountant or Trading Standards for example. NOTE: The Microsoft XPS Document Writer is not compatible with Windows 98 or Windows ME.

We are now making Agridata updates available online, with new releases every couple of months or so. If you would like to receive an e-mail with a link to download the online update when it's released, please send an e-mail to Updates@agridata.co.uk with the word Subscribe in the subject and your surname, postcode, holding number, telephone number and Windows version in the body of the e-mail. Once you have subscribed whenever an update is made available, an e-mail will be sent to you with a link to download it. NOTE: There is no additional charge to receive online updates, but your support contract must be paid up to date. You will continue to receive updates on CD, but the online updates will be more frequent. You only need to subscribe once.

Setup Menu

'System Setup' 'Record your Company Details'

• You can now record your TB testing period and last test date. This information is then printed on the cattle market declaration form when sending cattle to market.

• If you have multiple herds you can now record the Location Suffix on the CTS Web Users page.

• NOTE: This will only affect users setting up a new program. The download from BCMS option (used when setting up the program). If the user downloads using the CTS web services and they have more than one User ID and Password Agridata will use the holding number recorded for that user to look up the holding on the company’s screen holdings page. If it finds a match it will automatically use that holding when recording the animals on Agridata. A sort list has also been added to the males and females screen to allow the user to sort the list of animals by official tag, official tag reversed (sorts using the last 5 digits then the herd number), breed and age.

'Pedigree / Dairy Herd' 'Import NMR / CIS Data' 'Import NMR / CIS Herdstream Yield Data' Agridata can now read Cattle Information Services (CIS) herd stream data. A Batch can also be defined using this option and animals that have been recorded sold, died or missing can still be moved into or out of a batch. Once animals are in a Batch they can be used throughout the program to make selecting the animals easier.
